She talks (and quotes) much more sensibly about climate change than the loonie greenies . . .

Good point made about climate change predictions being made via computer modelling and making the point that climate 'experts' can't even predict short term climate, so how can we rely on long term guesses having any more than a 50% chance of being correct .

And of course we all know about "GIGO" when it comes to computers don't we!!??!!

Flame away!! :D

562910 2007-06-25 11:44:00 Watch out, The end is neigh, We already know the last major climate change was caused by the dinosaurs and their Cadillacs. Metla (12)
562911 2007-06-25 12:04:00 And the Tyrannosaur's SUV's destroyed the forests as well as the atmosphere - although some think it was the herbivores eating too much and producing methane as a by-product that was the prime cause. Poor things, they were misunderstood - just trying to find an alternative fuel to cactus sap!! johcar (6283)

I believe there is a need to do something about the ever increasing encroachment of people on the environment (such as the felling of rainforests for farmland etc). As David Bellamy was quoted as saying

Habitat destruction and the loss of biodiversity is one of the greatest threats to climate and landscape stability.
But yeah, I guess global warming has become the band-wagon of the masses

562916 2007-06-25 21:31:00 I like the way people say "save the planet" .
From what?

The planet will still be here when we are extinct .

Good one ! - I like it .

I am not a greenie, and am not sure about climate change, but I do know that we cannot go on using the world's resources at the rate we are .

All the Kyoto agreements and carbon regimes will not help .

What is needed is a cap on global population growth and indeed a target to get it down gradually .

562918 2007-06-26 22:22:00 Hmmm. I watch the "conservationsists" shooting elephnats and so on in Africa because there are "too many". Seems to me they are shooting the wrong animal. pctek (84)
