The difference being that Apple does it a lot faster and gets it right much sooner.:) In the case of Safari I think they are doing it to give the iPhone developers a PC web platform rather than to attack IE's browser market share since Firefox is already doing a very good job of that. Myself, I use Firefox on both platforms as do a lot of other Mac users although there are a number who are happy with Safari. I think that Apple and Google are going to be working together to create a lot of apps for the iPhone using Safari - MS on the other hand was looking at buying Yahoo but I don't think they would get much benefit from that compared to the Apple-Google partnership. |
