I am not in the slightest bit interested in Computer/Video games so the choice comes down to playing HD DVD's and to capturing and playing HD video from a HD Camcorder. (My hobby) The stand alone players are HD-DVD on the Toshiba at around $1600 or Blu-Ray on the Panasonic at around $2500. The PS3 at around $1099 basic, can capture edited HD video off a DVD where it is written or captured as a m2t file. (22min per 4.7GB disc) (Blu-Ray) The XBox Elite at $850 (release date August 2007 TBC) can do similar I believe. (HD_DVD) Both having HDMI output gives full High Def video. Therefore, as value for money, which one of these is best? Does the fact of getting a HD DVD player built in, put them ahead of other gaming systems? Ken |

What has the Panasonic Blu-ray player got that the PS3 hasn't? The only problem with buying a PS3 or a XBox Elite is my son's declaration that if I wanted to use it I would have to travel 10K to his place . He is well known as a smart arse :lol: Ken |
