562821 2007-06-26 09:10:00 I would say there would be more INTEREST in the PS3 but seeing as it is more than double the price of the Wii, people get real to what they can afford/justify spending on a console which means they get the Wii The_End_Of_Reality (334)

Well I would imagine that the niche market of game fanatics with cash would be both interested in and purchasing the PSIII but that has obviously been far out weighed by the greater general market buying the Wii.

562823 2007-06-26 09:34:00 If you have a Wii and PS3 side by side, which would you be more INTERESTED in? THAT is what I am talking about PRICE has NOTHING to do with what I am saying most people would prefer the PS3 over the Wii if price was NOT a factor, but it IS hence my belief that people are going for the Wii over the PS3  The_End_Of_Reality (334)
562824 2007-06-26 09:47:00 Metla, Nintendo is doing so well thanks to the Wii that last week, their market value actually exceeded that of Sony's which is pretty staggering when you compare the sheer scale of Sony's operations to Nintendo.

And?

Honestly, Why would I or anyone else care?, Nor did I ever dispute that its selling, In fact I said nothing in anyway related to the sales figures of anything.

I was referring to the dribble about becoming "part" of the game. Its a novelty control device not VR polugged into your brain stem.

Anyhow, I do believe the PS2 is still outselling them all in most markets, That Sony have been losing huge amounts money from most of their divisions, And now the once solid console division is in trouble due to the PS3, Game sales per unit for the wii are terrible and that due to their hand held devices Nimtendo have always been the biggest player in the market.

But at the end of the day, who cares?, sales don't reflect the best purchase, and its no skin off my nose which of these companies either make money or don't.

I'm a true believer in "if you want it, buy it" what ever the cost. If i rally wanted a PS3 over a wii, i would save that extra week or two for it. Why settle for something you don't really want.:2cents:

Personally I would take the Xbox 360, side by side with the PS3 it runs games faster and with better visuals, and its cheaper. At least that was the situation last time I looked into it.

Having said that, If my boy was a couple of years older I would take the Wii, When he is 5 I will probally get one if they are still in production.

Currently the Xbox 360 and PS3 are like that because (I believe) that the programers are not tapping into the potential of the PS3 as yet.

And yes, kids will probably be another reason for people buying the Wii, I never thought of that.

I have no real preferance over an Xbox 360/PS3 I don't actually know which I would get, but if I had the money I would probably lean towards the PS3

"Nintendo surpasses Sony in stock value
Nintendo's value is surging, due to the immense success of Nintendo hardware ever since the introduction of the Wii

Although both companies have been gaining in value over the past few months, Nintendo's value appears to be surging at a much faster rate, due to the immense success of Nintendo hardware ever since the introduction of the Wii. The sudden interest in Nintendo stock has allowed Mizuho Securities analyst Takeshi Koyama to re-rate the company from "neutral" to "moderately bullish".

It doesn't need to be plugged into your brain stem for you to become really involved with the game. I was just envisaging the future potential of the Wii concept.
