| 750796 | 2009-02-25 21:03:00 | Hi all, I am now using W 7 ---BUT on a spare h/d that I had on the shelf-My original post, was,-- "could I use v7 as an E drive from the XP pro" -and "come and go" as I wanted to NOT SO !! I could not get VB to open to download and instal v7 as wratterus appears to have done-(I'm too dumb to do that - so took my pooter to the Hamilton firm who have helped in the past-they maintain that now I have to pull the h/d plug in the pooter tower and boot off the remaining one-which ever way I was going Tedious yes, but I have an operating W 7 on that - it is great and I suppose I can get used to it-but I have to install every program from scratch in that drive- virtually a second pooter-- Take my word for it XP is still a very very good program-and this has the similar comment from my son -architects, with 18 staff ,leasing from Dell and who cannot get their CAD etc to interact with Vista, so on the two year cycle before any replacement arrangement, son has to stay with XP-- and money is NOT the problem:D Son, at this moment in time, says he will stay withXP I hope this post is enlightening Effie c |
