750789 2009-02-24 02:35:00 There was an option for ISO. I had already mounted the ISO I used though, so no point in testing it out. :p wratterus (105)

750791 2009-02-24 04:26:00 I just installed Win7 Beta into Virtualbox, no hassles whatsoever.

Mine installed, fine, too, but I would like to know how to get the W7 install to use a USB drive. Did you get it to see the USB port?

750792 2009-02-24 04:34:00 You'd probably have to modify some set up files to get it to work...
Or maybe install W7 in a VM, mount it to the host OS, then image it to an external?
Or get the hard drive out of the USB case, then slave and install?

750793 2009-02-24 04:42:00 Have it running in VB nicely but cannot access any external devices in Win 7 and had it on my network the first day now can't get it back on despite being on the same workgroup gary67 (56)
750794 2009-02-24 20:18:00 I understood that this Beta had to be installed on an existing Vista. Is that not the case?

No it is not. Just a Myth.

What Neil may be referring to is the fact you can't do an over-the-top upgrade from XP to Windows 7. You need to do a fresh install.

Upgrades can be done from Vista to 7.

750795 2009-02-24 21:30:00 Yes-vista is similar enough to W7 so you can just upgrade, but not the case for XP.
There was a rumour going around a while ago that the W7 beta was an upgrade from vista only....I was reffereing to that
