| 563246 | 2007-07-01 11:04:00 | Well I didn't realise the angst I would cause by mentioning torrents. I too had seen the thread pressf1.co.nz where even moderators had taken part, so thought that a discussion about a site would not be looked upon as a major crime. Bittorrent is now selling legal downloads, all torrent sites distribute linux, a lot of bands use them to get their music out there free and legally. I am part of a music project that is using a torrent site to pass files to be remixed and contributed to, all legally. to suggest someone be banned for mentioning a phenomenon...well stick your head back in the sand, the future lies in that direction, soon you will not walk into a shop to buy a game, you'll only get it via torrents, paid for of course, same with movies, your apps...everything. And while you were all bickering..the site has posted a message that it will be back. thanks to those who stuck up for me. |

This Wednesday they reckon As said before numerous times in this forum, torrents aren't illegal and torrent sites aren't a deep dark secret. There are many legal downloads there, but unfortunately there are some who automatically assume that people who visit these sites are just getting the illegally cracked apps. |

Don't worry about PedalSlammer he only got his underwear in a knot because he got banned over mentioning illegal torrents:D Yes you are right, torrents are legal, as I said above it is the content which you DL from them that makes them illegal, it might possibly go that way but I doubt it... not for a long time anyway, the shops will not like it... No worries  Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on demonoids site as to when it will be back up. Exactly right  the majority of torrents are illegal, but that doesn't mean there are no legal ones  |

Good old Swedish pirate bay, and now it is illegal to store pirates IP address in Sweden unless they have special permit to store the pirates IP. It means it is nearly impossible to catch the pirates in Sweden. |
