At least you would be getting value for your cash.

561974 2007-06-24 11:53:00 isn't it a bit hypocritical for an apple fan to be dissing the excessive spending of money when there are cheaper alternatives of equal or better quality? :P motorbyclist (188)

Not hypocrytical at all motorbyclist. I think just about every other brand of phone on the market would offer equal or better quality for less than $1000 let alone $10,000:eek: Even the top iPhone is only $599 US and it has a far better UI, features and design for the cost. It is also comparable in cost to other brands such as eMate, iPaq, RIM and Blackberry.

I know, that is why I was talking about the Nokia.:p I personally cannot see the point of another fruitless discussion talking about the price differential of Macs compared to some price breaks of PCs and iPods compared to similar priced music players.:groan:

so why the double standard? what gives apple the right to overprice? you say design, but nokia does it and you won't accept it?

but i agree, let's not argue over it

561979 2007-06-24 12:29:00 In many ways Vertu is an old phone in a shiny new suit. The company is wholly owned by Finnish phone giant Nokia, and uses a souped-up version of the same software in your basic 3310. But what a suit: the Vertu comes in stainless steel, gold, white gold and platinum. It is sheathed in the same leather used in Rolls Royces, and the face is scratch-proof sapphire. Ruby bearings under each keypad ensure precise key press.

that would be the price, along with being hand built and a fashion/wealth statement.

still ridiculous :groan:

In terms of the standard Nokia priced at $9999 being discussed here and the new iPhone priced at $599 and $499, I would say that it is the Nokia that would be over priced and under designed on both the hardware, software and UI side of things. But thats just my 2:2cents: Your supposed to be good with numbers so you do the math.:D

Other than that your right there is no need to argue.:)

561981 2007-06-24 13:41:00 Ha! Turns out that this range of phones even has a button on the side that enables one to have dinner with the Queen

561982 2007-06-25 05:11:00 Yeah, I don't think they'll go outta business, maybe they'll produce a clone of cheap version with lots of features cut off. So that they'll not run out of business.

:O But what non-essential (for a phone anyway) features exist on it that they can cut off?
