| 561892 | 2008-07-23 21:18:00 | Who really needs a remote anyway? The day I am too lazy to tell the dragon to get up and change the channel is the day I give up TV. (Now, how do I redirect my e-mail to the casualty ward?) |

| 561893 | 2008-07-23 22:14:00 | Calmed down, and then rang friend with similar unit . Hers is the older version, and remote has a different serial number- RM-SS880 as compared to my RM-SS800 . Different colour, although when hers was replaced at the beginning the new version had a remote the same as mine- just assumed it was a new product run . . . Checked instructions- yup, I was meant to have a RM-SS880 . THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG F***ING REMOTE WHEN I PURCHASED IT!! Where did the RM-SS800 come from? You've only ever mentioned RM-SS880 in previous posts . |

| 561894 | 2008-07-23 22:55:00 | The day I am too lazy to tell the dragon to get up and change the channel is the day I give up TV R2x1, you will be able to see again in about a week (when the swelling starts to go down) - ask me, I've been there before. Ignore the little amount of blood that will be spraying all over, a solution of Ammonia and Janola will remove it off anything pretty smartly LOL sarel |

| 561895 | 2008-07-23 23:28:00 | Where did the RM-SS800 come from? You've only ever mentioned RM-SS880 in previous posts . I've gotten mixed up between looking at the remote with the model number on it and the box/ instructions . . . they are exactly the same, just different colours . I remember my friend's one when originally purchased, had a deep blue coloured remote, but when the player broke and was replaced, the new unit's remote was pale blue in colour . Figuring they were one and the same, she kept the old one as it looked better, and I just figured it was a new production run and they decided to change the colour . . . As I said, I assumed that when I bought my one a few years later, pale blue was the standard colour for the remote . . . I didn't have any radio reception, no video or sky box, so had no need to use function key on remote . When I moved to Wellie though, we had all of these, and I thought it odd at first, but was busy working, and realised something was wrong when I had the house to myself for a few weeks . . . little did I know it would take this long to sort! As I said, assumed the remote was correct for the model (Why would I question what the retailer gave me? Won't make that mistake again!) given I had already seen it before, and whenever I've seen RM-SS800 or RM-SS880, I assumed I had made a typo . . . I can't blame Sony NZ for all of this- the retailer had me going through hoops for a year hoping I would go away, and when he realised I wasn't going anywhere, had Sony up about it . Yes, Sony did lose the remote I sent initially, but they're pretty apologetic about all this, and they're sorting it now . They sent me the wrong remote because I looked at my correspondence where I'd listed the wrong remote . GIGO I guess . . . I've rung and explained everything this morning, they understand the situation, and they're replacing it with the correct model . Fingers crossed . . . |
