750776 2009-02-23 23:21:00 That's the case only if you have two hard drives or one in two partitions.

OP, How big is your hard drive?

You're supposed to make a partiiton for W7....

750777 2009-02-23 23:44:00 Hi,
It must be in my physical machine- am very scared to go further, even if I have to delete the program, will I have chaos in my original settings ( as I was warned when I downloaded this )
I have as per first post,80 Gb h/d
To make a division -again, in my H/d -would that have to be E drive as I already have C &D
I don't think I am clever enough for that

750779 2009-02-23 23:56:00 If youre trying to boot from it, (if you copied it to cd/dvd), you have to burn it to cd/dvd first

Or create a virtual cd for it, it with some program

750780 2009-02-24 00:56:00 Hi Speedy,
I think I will back off with my tail between my legs
I have said I can usually get out of the poo but this might cause that ability to bite back
Thanks everyone- unless some bright spark comes up with a childlike method of doing this--nah nah
Even the "how to " at one side of the program is too small to read
I will however watch this string from a diplomatic distance

750781 2009-02-24 00:57:00 I understood that this Beta had to be installed on an existing Vista. Is that not the case? Neil McC (178)
750782 2009-02-24 01:01:00 Make an image of your current O/S partition.
And if you are really scared, put in a 2nd drive and do it on that.

That way with both of the above it will be painless to revert back to original.

750783 2009-02-24 01:02:00 I tried Win 7 64 bit dual booting with XP pro 32 bit. It worked surprisingly well. No real problems. The only annoyance was having to install all other programs twice. And occasionaly the system got confused and mixed files up in the wrong version.

I then installed 7 on it's own. Easiest OS I have ever installed. It gave no driver problems. It just went on line and found what it needed with no help from me. It ran every program I threw at it. Even the original "DOOM".

It is obviously not complete, but can be used reasonably comfortably with a bit of patience

No it is not. Just a Myth.

750785 2009-02-24 01:22:00 Hi,
I see I still have a 40 gb Seagate h/d on my shelf, and acccording to Pctek, that could be installed etc
Chicken I may be but I assume that can be used--I forget why it was left out of my case anyway-possibly to get the 80 gb h/d that I now use-I think,I think
Very old age is upon me and I know it:crying
So perhaps a good mate might come to the rescue
Thanks for that idea Pctek
:thanks
