| 750530 | 2009-02-24 00:49:00 | yeah their phone system seems to have been down/dead for most of this year. I was thinking about fax but I assumed that wouldn't work either. And no I don't have the monitor still, I sent it back for a refund. It was supposidly going to be sent to Samsung to verify the fault...who knows where it is now. C1 is just straight up dodgy, I would strongly recommend no one buy anything from them. I like the idea someone posted earlier on this thread about an area to sticky/save issues with suppliers/stores! I'm going to go ahead with the Disputes Tribunal and also try and get the bank to chargeback the credit card transaction. |

You could contact the distributor in NZ and tell them. I did something similar with Logitech about a certain dodgy wholesaler. They were very, very interested. |

| 750532 | 2009-02-24 03:04:00 | your contract is with C1, not samsung so whatever drama C1 has with samsung, it has absolutely nothing to do with you. If it has been 2-3 months, the time for email correspondence is over, its time to bring down the hammer of god. I second Disputes tribunal and fairgo. Also perhaps we should have a retailer round up thread stickied? So things like this are permanently recorded. I agree that the contract is with the retailer. However if the retailer is ignoring their obligations under the CGA, it is then best to go to the next stage up the chain, which is actually what 'Consumer' also recommend to do. In C1's case, I had to go to the manufacturer, who ended up contacting C1 directly and telling them their obligations, and eventually C1 sorted the problem and refunded me. Remember that it also reflects poorly on the manufacturer and brandname , when the retailer provides poor customer service for a particular product, which is why manufacturers will try and help the consumer out. It is only after you have exhausted all avenues, that you go to the disputes tribunal, and that can take a while to do, and costs around $50. You can't claim the $50 back as part of your claim either. |

I'm with the national bank, and I was able to get a chargeback over 3 months after the transaction occurred. I would however be very careful, as the retailer could try to claim back chargeback cost, as chargebacks are very expensive to process, and I believe the retailer gets charged over $100 by the creditcard company. When I did a chargeback, the company I was claiming back from was in liquidation, and they owed me other money, so it was with great satisfaction to issue a chargeback. |

Paypal charges the seller US$50 if a chargeback is successfully issued against them. |
