| 750218 | 2009-02-22 08:54:00 | Looks like the hard drive was at fault. Installing OK now so far. I tested the drive with Seatools and checkdisk with no errors. I really thought it was the motherboard! I've got DBAN but still don't see it worth the effort. When I look on Trade Me $6 - 8 just isn't worth it. |

| 750219 | 2009-02-22 09:05:00 | I've had errors installing XP OS a quite a few times. At least once it turned out to be a faulty ram stick. At least once was a bad HDD. One time a workaround was to strip out all PCI cards etc. Leave only 1 stick ram, video card if not onboard, CD and HDD. The bare essential approach. |

| 750221 | 2009-02-22 09:17:00 | Sounds a lot like the HDD then - sometimes its a process of Elimination then you generally work out whats at fault. If you want borrow the big hammer from my Sig :lol: |
