Never mind a clone, just drop the price to $99 and they might sell a couple. That phone is pretty standard. You only make a clone of something when you are trying to copy the competition. You don't need to clone your own hardware.

561964 2007-06-24 06:10:00 I think it must be a typo??? I think that handset mite be $99.99 or $999.99.... Mr Wetzyl (362)

I would say it is a typo and should be $99.99 since even at $999 it would still be waaay over priced for a basic cell phone.

561966 2007-06-24 08:25:00 It won't be a typo, Vertu mobiles are expensive as. That one is probably on the lower end of the scale actually. It's a subsidiary of Nokia and those phones are so disgracefully speced it's a wonder anyone buys them.

Well, come the 29th of June I think Nokia might be forced to change their mind and the price(in the US at least)just a little bit. Its not even well designed to justify the price.

Obviously they're vying for the too rich for sense group, the people that could buy a container full of iPhones possibly.

561969 2007-06-24 08:54:00 Well for Nokia's sake I sure hope so. Either way the big cheeses @ Nokia are going to have kittens and their counterparts at AT&T are going to be smiling

561970 2007-06-24 11:40:00 Your missing the point, The Vertu phones are a demonstration of having money, Not features.

And people that can afford a Vertu (and would have the mentaility to buy one) most probally wouldn't be seen dead with the base model $10 grand phone.

.
I could think of better ways of showing that I had money than buying a $10,000 phone that looks like any other phone  I guess some people just have more dollars than sense.

561972 2007-06-24 11:48:00 Other rich people would recorgnise it for what it is.

Then make a mental note of where they stand socially.

I saw one listed for $300000, Diamond encrusted.

For some people money is like water

I tried treating it as such, Chocked on a 10 cent coin, went back to treating it like money.

Muhahahahahahaha.
