| 562480 | 2007-06-24 21:59:00 | www.nzherald.co.nz Thousands of people who take prescription medicines for everyday conditions are gaining large amounts of weight as an unexpected side-effect, scientists have warned. Insulin was found to increase weight by up to 6kg. What?? My husband became a Type 1 diabetic at age 21. He said before he went to the doctors he was down to 6 stone. He got put in hospital and they messed about a bit then put him on insulin. He gained 3 stone straight away. He has since stayed at around that weight and you certainly couldn't call him fat. How do they come up with this rubbish? Of course it causes weight gain, its supposed to, it stops you dying. |
