As of 2.22am, Alinghi have a lead of 175m and throughout the race, TNZ hasn't even really challenged them or even threatened to challenge them. Alinghi just seems to be better prepared and according to the commentators, have a faster boat and certainly a newer one (first competitive race for SUI100). Traitors or just smart people choosing the right team? I mean this seems to be the perpetual problem with NZ, all this emotional stuff. I mean these guys are very skilled professionals, why shouldn't they get to choose whom they work for? God knows Alinghi have buckets more money that TNZ ever could. |
