751136 2009-02-24 22:35:00 Hello i've successfully installed Ubuntu Linux but whenever it loads it tells me that there is no root file system defined and that i have to use the partioning menu. Is there some way I can do this and still use the other programs and documents i have on Windows? And what do i need to partition? LarsJohann (13010)
751137 2009-02-24 22:51:00 And do i have to reinstall Ubuntu after i partition my drive? LarsJohann (13010)
751138 2009-02-25 00:16:00 anyone? LarsJohann (13010)
751139 2009-02-25 02:11:00 How are you installing it? Via wubi, straight install or virtualbox (or something similar)? Catweazle (2535)
751140 2009-02-25 02:22:00 straight install right off a disc. LarsJohann (13010)
751141 2009-02-25 02:35:00 Did you create a seperate partition for Ubuntu previously? Blam (54)
751142 2009-02-25 02:51:00 Now that's the thing, how do I create a seperate partition before i install Ubuntu without removing my previous OS and stuff on my HD? Like which program do i use? LarsJohann (13010)
751143 2009-02-25 03:29:00 Ubuntu should let you do that in its setup Speedy Gonzales (78)
751144 2009-02-25 03:35:00 i try and install it normally from booting from disc at startup but whenever i do it that way i click english than install ubuntu and than it loads for 5 minutes then says this and hangs here:

Busybox v1.1.3 (Ubuntu...Built in shell (ash)
type help for available commands

(initramfs)

And nothing else happens :S

751145 2009-02-25 03:41:00 Take your pick (www.google.co.nz(Ubuntu...Built+in+shell+( ash)+type+help+for+available+commands++(initramfs)&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a)

And see which 1 works

If its not the latest version, download and try the latest version
