750954 2009-02-24 08:03:00 I have two laptops working on wireless. One laptop opens all websites without any problems. The other will only open some. Both have IE7 and XP. I've tried the security settings with no joy. Anyone give me some other things to try.
Thanks
Pete

750955 2009-02-24 08:09:00 have you tried with another browser? it is most likely your ie settings hueybot3000 (3646)
750956 2009-02-24 08:17:00 Would love to stick to IE. Just downloaded it again, but no improvement. Thanks pete peter sheather (11968)
750957 2009-02-24 08:30:00 you can stick with ie but just try with another browser (firefox) and see if that fixes it. if it does then we know its your ie settings hueybot3000 (3646)
750958 2009-02-24 08:38:00 When you say that it cannot open some websites, does it show up any errors or is it just the "Page not found" page

You can also try resetting your browser, which deletes all history and save passwords and resets everything to default.

IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset

750962 2009-02-24 08:45:00 have you tried another broswer yet, might seem like a pain but its a sure way of tellin whether its ie or not hueybot3000 (3646)
750963 2009-02-24 08:53:00 I doubt it's IE, as he did a reset...and it still doesn't work

Try this: Go run>type in this: %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\ and press enter. Open the hosts file in notepad and make sure only this is there:

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

If not, download Trojan Remover and run it

select all options under utilities. Update first
