563983 2007-06-28 19:11:00 National Radio NZ's tech reviewer said yesterday that a basic iphone would cost $2000 USD. Not only is it limited to only a few phone companies, it does not have:

• Video recording
• Picture messages (MMS)
• Songs as Ringtones
• Games
• Any flash support
• Instant Messaging
• Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE)
• Voice recognition or voice dialing
• Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming

Lets see how WinMacGuy wriggles out of this one!

Another thing - the iphone is big. I like my cellphones small.

Apple's IPhone Generates Buzz That May Top Mustang (Update1)
une 28 (Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc.'s campaign to build excitement about its iPhone may be the most successful marketing effort ever, surpassing the drive to promote Ford Motor Co.'s 1964 Mustang and Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 95.

Here are a few of my own speculative sales numbers for you.
There will be an average of 1000 people waiting in line at each of the 150+ Apple stores around the US + a similar number (+/-) 500 of people waiting out side each of the 1800 AT&T Stores around the US to buy an iPhone with a limit of 1 per customer. My conservative estimate would put the sales figures at around 500,000 to 750,000 units on Friday night.

Blog: The Oracle speaks, the iPhone rules
His position gives him the power to make or break new gadgets hitting the market and he's just passed judgement on the most hyped of gadgets ever to debut - the iPhone.

The Wall Street Journal's personal technology columnist, Walt Mossberg, has given the iPhone a glowing review after playing with the device for the last couple of weeks.

563990 2007-06-28 21:15:00 Correction to my previous comment
"Apple's iPhone will go on sale this Friday, June 29 at 6:00pm local time at Apple retail stores nationwide. All 164 Apple retail stores in the US will stay open until midnight, and customers can purchase up to two iPhones on a first come, first served basis."

I previously stated there would be 1 iPhone per customer.
