2007-07-03 10:35:00 | Right back at ya there buddy ;) It would seem that they are not struggling to make the sales. Can Apple meet iPhone demand? Analysts seem to be tripping over themselves telling us how well the iPhone sales are going. In fact, Goldman Sachs is now estimating some 700,000 units were sold in just the first weekend alone. www.engadget.com

2007-07-03 10:51:00 | I find that most people are really not that discerning, they are getting the iPhone because it is the latest buzz, I like to read something like the link I posted from somebody who actually tries out the new product and compares it to a previous piece of equipment. I watched someone using O/S 10 today on a dual core iMac, my first look at it, I have always used O/S 9 and that really sucks, O/S 10 at first glance - not that impressive, he couldn't show me tabs on the Safari browser, which was surprising as I thought it had them. Safari on Windows - bah, tried it for 3 days and updated, still crap, got rid of it and I won't be installing it again, it wasn't even beta standard. Apple must be joking.

Cmd+T will give you tabs in Safari. The person probably had a case of "it never works when your watching me" syndrome. OS9 is seriously old. iPhone gets BlackBerry in a stew Around 15 percent of mobile workers in the US want to be equipped with Apple's iPhone, new research claimed today. Market research firm RDA Global said that there are 50 million workers in the US who either travel, work away from their office or telecommute, offering a potential market for at least 7.2 million iPhones. Mobile workers already using Apple computers and iPods are most likely to be interested in an iPhone, according to the research, which was based on a poll of 1,027 people in the US. www.itnews.com.au |

2007-07-03 11:05:00 | "But getting things done with the iPhone isn't easy, and anyone looking for a productivity device will probably need to look on. Its browser falls pretty short of the "internet in your pocket" claims Apple's made, and even though it's still easily the most advanced mobile browser on the market, its constant crashing doesn't exactly seal the deal. The iPhone's Mail app -- from its myriad missing features to its un-integrated POP mail experience to its obsolete method of accessing your Gmail -- makes email on the iPhone a huge chore at best." www.engadget.com

2007-07-03 11:09:00 | True, there was a lot of pre sales hype surrounding the re designed XBox (MS copying Apple there again) e. No, so let me get this straight. If Apple creates hype its thatnks to the coolness of the products and his steveness but if MS gets hype its copying Apple? So does that mean every other MP3 and crappy computer maker eho gets hype is copying Apple? I am absolutely sick and tired of you slamming MS for no reason. Look I know they have numerous faults but lets get this straight, without MS you would not have the penetration computers have today. This might be a surprise but not everyone can afford to blow $2000+ on a crappy white computer. BTW, every unit sold of the XBOX is making a profit and has been for a long time. Get over it.

2007-07-03 11:18:00 | BTW, every unit sold of the XBOX is making a profit and has been for a long time. Get over it. I take it you have never seen the cost break down on from an MS financial statement regarding the Xbox division. The best the Xbox has ever done was break even when it initially launched. The whole division loses MS about $260 million a year. The end of quarter financial results are due out in about 2 weeks I think. I'll send them to you when they are out. MS copied Apple's concept of hardware design when the designed the Xbox360 - remember MS is/was purely a successful software company not a hardware design company like Apple. If you don't believe me compare the "design" of the first Xbox to that of the Xbox360 with console - spot anything different? have a read of this article redarmyrebels.tripod.com MS actually developed the software for the Xbox360 using a G5 Power Mac since both the Mac and the Xbox use IBM PPC chips. The Xbox360 marketing was a result of MS marketing dept and loads of online bloggers and MS game fanatics and was very successfull. As I mentioned earlier, MS was very successful back in the 90's with Windows 9x which bought us the affordable desktop PC in every household around the world. Since then the playing field has leveled in many areas and MS faces much more competition.

2007-07-03 12:38:00 | I know it is a breakthrough product but so it should be or else what is all the hype about, what I am interested in are the ridiculous failings and oversights, these are the things that annoy me on any machine I use. The inability to copy and paste is a deal breaker for me. Apparently the camera is not too good as well, and that would be another thing I would want to work well. I have used touch screens in the past and they were never very satisfactory even when working correctly they have no tactile feedback.

2007-07-03 14:42:00 | Um no, MS makes around US$65 on each 360: www.engadget.com So the unit itself is profitable but due to launch costs etc the division is losing money. Remember that Apple has been making and launching hardware a lot longer than MS have so has the cost efficiencies sorted out. If I had to choose between a iPhone and a 360, the iPhone wouldn't even be in contention.
