From what I have seen Methamphetamine starts off as tiny crystal flakes that when crushed becomes a fine powder, As an ex Meth Cook, and I can show you my police record on google to prove it. I will explain. Meth or MA starts off as a freebase oil after the final cooking reaction. Depending on the route to MA, most will involve the next reaction/process being either a Steam Distillation or an A/B extraction, or both. Crystals are formed in two ways. If the precipitation process is using titration to bond the HCI salt to the freebase MA molecule, shards or crystals will form in the evaporation process. If your process of precipitation is gassing then the MA will be a flaky white powder and you have to use a recrystallization process to crystallize it. Or you could use it how it is. Both of these routes will form the shards of crystals that most people know as Meth, Crystal Meth or P. (NZ adopted the term P for Meth). Rocks have to be "grown". Either route, although not necessary a recrystallization process should be done to purify the product. And Plod you are quite right, most Amphetamine aka Speed around these days is most likely to be Meth cut with some glucose based type product. When most people are doing a line of “Speed” it’s more likely to be cut Meth. A good indication on the purity of your product is to taste it. It should be extremely bitter. MA is a far superior and stronger product than amphetamine. Amphetamines are always cut as they are not clean burning. As for while amphetamine in its pure form looks like tiny crystal formations that can be broken apart but not crushed, leaving tiny rocks. I’m not sure about that one. Probably just MA cut. The route of Amphetamine is a different process than what MA is and because of it's lower potency it’s really not worth manufacturing it. |
