750965 2009-02-24 18:29:00 Problems where some websites won't load are usually caused by incorrect or conflicting MTU settings in either the modem or the PC.

Usually lowering the MTU in the modem to 1492 is all that is required.
Ideally MTU and MRU should both be set to the same figure
D-Link ADSL modems for some reason seem to have this problem more then any other.
In the D-Link modem configuration page this can be changed under WAN settings.

I am not having any problems but you have mentioned MTU settings before and I have not been able to find any in my modem's settings. My modem is a Dynalink RTA300 ADSL router. Is it too old to have any MTU settings?

750967 2009-02-25 03:43:00 Probably is too old
If everything is workin leave well alone.

750968 2009-02-25 05:53:00 If it was MTU in the router it would affect both computers...

Might be MTU settings on that particular PC though

750969 2009-02-26 06:01:00 Thanks for all suggestions. Still got the same problem after trying them. Someone suggested flushing DNS. How do I do that.

750970 2009-02-26 06:11:00 Just solved it.. Somehow laptop changed setting to "use following DNS address' , rather than 'obtain DNS server automatically". Thanks for helps. Should have looked here first probably!!!!!.
Thanks again
Pete
