| 563643 | 2007-07-04 02:34:00 | I have to admit though..... the thought that all and any of my sins could be forgiven by going to confession ..... thats just out of it in my mind. If someone "thinks" that its all good because you told some guy about it, whats to stop them from doing more, other, worse things. I don't believe in it of course but I find that kind of hard to swallow. I also know of some people who think everything happens because and for god but in my mind we are responsible for what we do. I would hate to think that I'm some pawn in life and don't have any control of whats left. There is of course the big argument .... If there is a god why isn't he doing anything to help with the suffering of others? ahahahaha ..... As far as I'm concerned we are all responsible for the way the world is and we need to do something to help instead of feeling hard done by because some god thing isn't helping us. Really really don't believe in god.. I would be quite happy to believe we were conceived from a "big bang" but until I have proof (actual, factual, proof) of any of that, Ill try not to put too much thought into it although it does seem to be a great debating point.:thumbs: | never-u-mind (6500) | ||

Who or what created this supposed creator? And how did this creator create? Why do Creationists and ID believers always neglect to answer these questions? ID or God raises much bigger questions than evolution ever does. |

What nonsense . We can't trust what humans beings write in emails right now . Why are we supposed to trust something written long ago? Organised relgions are social controls systems and their holy books are the manuals . If you want to believe that a God decided to have a series of fireside chats and put down his thoughts via the pen of others fine . But I see no proof nor logic that dictates it should be so . Especially since many of the "facts" recorded in it are demonstratably false in the light of modern science - the age of the earth for one . Christians only started taking a "liberal" interpretation of events in the Bible when science made it clear a "literal" one wouldn't wash any more . I have come to the firm opnion that there are fundamentally two types of people in the world . Those who cannot face life without belief in a God, and those who can . Belief and non-belief have nothing to do with intelligence nor facts . The only way I'll ever believe in God is if he taps me on the shoulder and gives me a slap around the ear . And I have been that way all my life, long before I ever could form logical arguments against the existance of God . I think most people are the same, they just differ in which side of the fence they fall . |
