751115 2009-02-24 19:05:00 Hello i'm trying to install Ubuntu Linux but whenever i boot it from the disc and select Install Ubuntu (or any other option for the matter) the Ubuntu logo shows up for a few minutes showing the loading bar than i jut get my BIOS screen that Loading, Please Wait... at the top than it says the release versions and below that in perentheses it says (initramfs) and i type help and there is just a bunch of commands i'm not to sure what's happening...:S LarsJohann (13010)
751116 2009-02-24 20:16:00 ok it seems that the graphic installer after loading bringing you to (initramfs) is a common problem with the new version of Ubuntu Linux, 8.01 but anyone here know how to solve it? LarsJohann (13010)
751117 2009-02-24 20:17:00 Are you sure it is the BIOS screen you are seeing? Behind the Ubuntu splash screen there is a heap of scrolling text that shows the boot up process that Linux uses.

What happens if you just wait a few minutes? If you don't end up with a graphical display, what is the last text message shown?

751118 2009-02-24 20:32:00 this is the screen im getting :

Busybox v1.1.3 (Debian...Built in shell (ash)
type help for available commands

(initramfs)

And it shows up after i hit Install Ubuntu after a minute or so of waiting for it to load, it jumps to a black screen with that written on it. It happens whatever option i choose, like if i want to try it without installing check disk for errors.

751119 2009-02-24 21:39:00 anyone know? LarsJohann (13010)
751120 2009-02-25 20:19:00 Can you run the live version without trying to install it? If it runs the live version, installing shouldn't be a problem. autechre (266)
