751846 2009-02-28 00:47:00 We've decided to 'downgrade' the Vista OS to XP on this Acer machine and have downloaded all the relevant XP drivers.

Problem is: during the installation process, XP doesn't recognise the SATA HDD - it complained that either it is virus infected or problem with the HDD and suggested to run chkdisk /f.

What shall we do next?

751847 2009-02-28 00:52:00 We may have to install the SATA driver which have already downloaded but how to install it if there isn't any Floppy disk drive in the machine? It's a new PC of < 6 months and we don't want to open up the box just in case this may void the warranty! bk T (215)
