| 566118 | 2007-07-05 10:46:00 | Hi All. Has anybody actually got this set up? What channels can you see, apart from our NZ normal channels. I realise that different sized Dish Aerials can pull in a variety of overseas programmes. But are they worth watching? PJ |

| 566119 | 2007-07-05 23:28:00 | See this thread: pressf1.pcworld.co.nz btw. I don't have Freeview yet so I can't tell you what you can definitely pick up, but take a look at Lyngsat (www.lyngsat.com) and this channel list (http:). It seems most are either not in English or are religion focused. There aren't that many regular stations like TV 1, 2, 3 etc. |

I have only been able to tune in the standard channels . . . tv1, 2, 3, C4 . . . oh and the tongue ta phenua charity channel :yuck: My understanding is that the overseas channels come from a different satelite, so your dish would have to be pointing in a different direction to the Sky one . PS, the Freeview channel reception is clear, but I'm not sure how they get away with calling it 'high res' in their advertising . . . it's like viewing a 'low res' video on your comp . . . not the smoothest graduation of colour/tone |

As mentioned in the thread I linked to above, I seem to remember reading somewhere that can get D1, C1 and B3 on one dish with three LNBs as they are all in a similar place . |

Certainly better than a lot of Skys channels . Which Receiver and TV and video hookup are you using? |

| 566126 | 2007-07-29 07:25:00 | I have sky dish up on roof & i suppose it is directed towards the right direction since i had sky few months ago. I also have a decoder not the freeview one but some cheapi one, what are the settings i need to do inorder to get freewview? | gum digger (6100) | ||
| 566127 | 2007-07-29 07:33:00 | Yep, if you've got a Sky dish it's pointed the right direction, just plug the box into the Sky lead. Your cheapie box should have come with some instructions about scanning for available channels. Basicly you have to go into a menu and choose the satelite... from memory Optus D1 wasn't listed, but just choose one from the menu... blindscan for channels and the NZ ones should show up in the menu ie TV1, 2, 3, C4, Maori and a few 'reserved' TVNZ ones. |
