565498 2007-07-03 23:16:00 From September, broadband customers will be able to connect to the internet without paying Telecom for a phone line for the first time.

Under an agreement reached by the telecommunications industry, Telecom will sell a service to its wholesale customers - the likes of CallPlus, Orcon, ihug, WorldxChange and its own retail arm - which will give consumers access to the internet without paying up to $43 for line rental.

565502 2007-07-05 06:30:00 So you'll pay your ISP for the connection. Your ISP will pay Telecom for thre use of the phone line. Your ISP will put a markup on that expense and include it in what they charge you.

Guess what. You will still be paying Telecom for the use of a phone line. :D
