565552 2007-07-04 12:57:00 lol, maybe Microsoft should control the world Internet to become the richest person again.
Shame on Microsoft didn't sell Vista at lower price with lots of bugs and the hardware requirements are horrible. Steve Job can do better with its crappy hardware and better looking OS, but that's a copy of Unix.

Maybe the two greatest theifs in the world should work together Bill + Steve. lol. But in the history those two are the greatest technology robbers, i.e stealing Xerox idea, stealing unix, and bill for stealing most of the technology that works with Microsoft. But they got away with it because they got $$$ to pay for the lawyers.

You are joking right? You do know what "Open Source" is, and OS X' origins in it, right?

As for the GUI -Xerox didn't know what to do with it. They, like IBM, thought personal computers were going nowhere. Long live the command line, etc etc. They practically gave it away.

Yeeah . . . but Big Blue and Xero killed a lot of small mom-n-pop computer systems that were light years better than the systems they had . . . and they used $$s as leverage in the same way . . sue them into bankruptcy with banks of attorneys that just sit around waiting to hear "Go get 'em" from the CEOs .

I don't have any pity for them getting it in the neck the same way they decapitated other companies .

GEOS ( . wikipedia . org/wiki/GEOS_%2816-bit_operating_system%29" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org) and the older CBM/DOS ( . wikipedia . org/wiki/CBM_DOS" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org), Commodore DOS, ( . wikipedia . org/wiki/Commodore_DOS" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org) were benchmark zeniths for their day .

565554 2007-07-04 20:11:00 He is still #1 in super-duper-generosity. What a guy!

He's pledged a lot I'll grant that. Not too many kudos for that...

565555 2007-07-04 20:41:00 You think this is true? Waky Waky. Morning people. PedalSlammer (8511)
565556 2007-07-05 01:41:00 Yes of course its true. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is a reality you know. He actually does give a lot of money away. Are you that cynical about Bill and MS? And btw, its not stealing if Xerox PARC gave their GUI idea away. beeswax34 (63)

565559 2007-07-05 05:29:00 Well I;m still waiting for winmacguy to say that Bill's just copying good old Steve .

Not at all, if Bill had copied Steve he would never have licensed Windows to IBM . Bill wanted Steve to license the Apple OS of the time but Steve refused and the rest they say is history . Bill just copied the Mac GUI (he rotated it 90 degrees and called it Windows) since Microsoft lacked any decent GUI interface designers - they still do .
