752134 2009-02-28 10:17:00 Hey does any one know what the estimated total data through put would be for 6 hours usage of remote desktop connection between Gulf Harbour and Auckland CBD at approx 7000 kbps?
Trying to keep an eye on data usage.

752136 2009-02-28 10:29:00 Depends what youre doing

Altho I wouldnt use remote desktop. Teamviewer would probably be easier

And you dont need Windows Messenger / whatever you use

Speedy: What's wrong with remote desktop? Teamviewer is only free for non-commercial use, which rules out using it for work purposes.

Nedkelly:
Because of the way remote desktop works, it really depends on what you're doing. The total amount of traffic can fluctuate quite a bit.

Grab a program like Netmeter, and have it running for an hour while you're using RDP doing fairly "normal" work, and see what happens.

There's a BB Meter in my sig that you can use to monitor the usage provided you dont really do anything else for that hour. You should get a pretty accurate reading.
