| 566229 | 2007-07-05 21:08:00 | Our little town is to have a big meeting in October. This is for cellphone coverage as well as broadband. I've had a go at battling Telecom already so I don't think much will happen but hey more harrassment is always good so I'll be attending. One of the rural ladies was originally just going to start a petition and we had a chat, now she has managed to get a Telecom body to come down and has arranged for the local school to donate the hall so everyone can come along and hassle them or something. She has got a lot of the businesses here to join in and various types like Federated Farmers and so on. I suggested to ring all the news people she can get hold of and encourage them to do a 2 minute bit on it or something. She has written to David Cunliffe too, on my advice, as he has always contacted me back (himself), and does seem to be seriously looking into the broadband situation. (Theres been bits in the news on his ideas) You never know, if enough sparsely populated areas all did the same thing.........worth a try anyway. Personally I said if more people stopped paying Telecom for Xtra and phone services it might bother them more... |

You have to come too . Bring many mates . She wants a crowd as Telecom think there will only be a handful . Sounds good, who's Hilux is volunteering? |

| 566235 | 2007-07-06 07:00:00 | They have to import the tar, and pluck chickens for the feathers. That takes time, especially if the chickens are still alive. The traditional "rail" is only a wooden fence rail, not a steel railway one, so it's not too heavy when you are transporting the tarred and feathered Telecom representative out of town, pctek. Lynching is probably illegal. |
