753157 2009-03-03 21:44:00 Hi,
I have a toshiba laptop running windows xp, suddenly the cd drive is not showing in my computer, it has a yellow exclamation mark in on it in device manager - MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-832S.
When i remove the cd drive from the laptop (it has a clip to pull out the cd module from inside the laptop) it disappears, and when i reconnect it it reappears but still with a yellow exclaim. I've tried removing and re-installing the driver to no effect... :badpc:

I see this issue all the time with Vista machines and occasionally with XP machines.

After detelting the UpperFilters and LowerFilters keys and rebooting all should be back to normal. Never bothered to find out what causes it as the fix only takes 5 minutes. :)

753162 2009-03-03 22:58:00 I think programs like Roxio's program (Easy cd creator, I think it was called), and maybe programs like INCD (programs that use My computer / its shell for burning) / can screw the registry up Speedy Gonzales (78)
753163 2009-03-04 02:01:00  it worked ! thanks you very much ! mOOseCaNNoN (13319)
