Do you actually have a problem - why were you looking at the registry?

753045 2009-03-03 10:05:00 um what exactly are you looking at in the registry?

general rule is if it aint broke dont fix it. especially if you dont know what your doing

plenty on here know all about it though so if you have a problem ask and itl get sorted quicker than you can load a page

753047 2009-03-03 18:45:00 If you're know what you-re doing, i.e applying a registry hack etc, then you'll be fine

But generally, try not to change anything in the registry unless you must.

753048 2009-03-04 07:59:00 I use to use reg hacks, from trusted sites, a lot in Windows98, and got a good result. In XP and later the OS is a lot more optimised and there a lot fewer improvements to be made, and with smaller increases. Basically I haven't bothered, and its probably safest. If you do hack make sure you backup the original settings. Don't play with stuff you don't FULLY understand, a simple mistake can lead to disaster PPp (9511)

Yes.

If you're curious, why not have a look around? Just keep your hands and feet in the car at all times

But if you DO need to change something, there's always someone here that'll help

753051 2009-03-04 11:48:00 HaHa. Reminds me of the time my friend was showing of his skills by manually cleaning the registry - in actual fact he had no idea what he was doing and rendered the machine unbootable. :xmouth: Fifthdawn (9467)
