752649 2009-03-02 02:45:00 Afternoon folks,

Well weve had enough of the city o we are back into retirement.

We had satelite internet out there, with NATCOM, but we wanna change to someone different.

Wed be looking for unlimited or at least 10GB for the right price.

Ive looked around - but they all look like theyve gone up about $100 a month!!

What have y'all got info on?

752650 2009-03-02 03:36:00 Unlimited? ON Satelitte? No-one.
You know what they charge, heaps.
Last time I looked Farmside with CRT discount was cheapest. If you can call it cheap, and their customer service is abysmal.

752651 2009-03-02 04:17:00 If your in the coverage area, you could go with no. 8 wireless (www.no8wireless.co.nz/). They used to be called rural link (old web site is still running (http:)) but have been re-branded.

We connected through the home plan, and at first, the reception was a bit dodgy, but one day a man came over and moved our receiver, since then it has been (mostly) fine. The only times it cuts out now is usually just when there is a storm, but in the middle of January it cut out from about 1-3pm a couple of times on sunny, hot days.

Other than that, the connection speed is consistent (when using the internet, we get 55 - 60 kilo bytes per secound, all day, every day (except when on slow servers :()), and the difference from dial up is amazing, would never dream of going back now!
