| 752636 | 2009-03-02 02:22:00 | One of my computers with xp pro sp3 refuses to hide the desktop shortcuts. The 'hide shortcuts' field has vanished from the right click menu. I know that there is a registry tweak to switch off the icons, I have used it before, but have forgotten what it was. The system is working well in all other respects, just that it makes a mess of my background picture. Any help will be appreciated. |

| 752640 | 2009-03-02 04:36:00 | Click Start>Run>GPEDIT.MSC Navigate to this path: User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Desktop>Active Desktop Double-click Prohibit Changes and set it to Not Configured Double-click Disable Active Desktop and set it to Not Configured If that still doesn't work, try going cmd>sfc /scannow Blam |
