567732 2007-07-10 22:07:00 What are you going to be using it for?
If gaming ditch that card and get an 8xxx series.

Ditch the motherboard and get an ASUS.
Ditto the HDD - get Seagate.

Was gonna say pretty much the same thing.... :). Apart from those things it looks good. Definitley change the Mobo and HDD...and if your gonna build a new PC and want to do some gaming it's sensible to get a decent gfx card, the are getting cheaper and cheaper. If your gonna go DX10 the 8600GT or 8800gts are good value, for DX9 i would recommend 7800gt or 7950gt (s-x), but it's more sensible to go 8xxx now as it's a bit more future proof. :nerd:

567734 2007-07-11 13:13:00 it's mostly for multi tasking [web page / graphics [not heavily] / and games [sims2/age of empire/empire earth & the like]

will do some searching on the MoBo and the HDD

gon get GPU much later..

don't want anything too extreme as this is an upgrade/practice build. don't want to mess anything up.

thanks for lookin it over.

567738 2007-07-11 20:55:00 i have considered everyone's suggestions along with customer/product support from different sites and manufacturers .

so here are the results:
changed mobo, fans, firewire card, & HDD
added tool kit, static strap [whole house is carpetted], super multi burner

ordering from both sites .

[specs seems the same as one that comes with case] [which 1 would be better to use?]

this is a first time build, so nothing too extreme yet .
don't want to mess things up [a little nervous] .

notes: upgrade GPU and sound later, as i'm content with these at the moment .

uses: Sims2, Empire Earth, Age of Empires/Mythology & the like . web pages, graphics [paint shop pro 11, logo, animation . ]

!! please check compatibility !!
give a 1-10 [10=high] rating as to the functionality of what it's being used for .

any building tips would be greatly appreciated .

thank u to all who have responded and will give a reply back .

Make the motherboard an ASUS.
Make the HDD a Seagate.

Read the motherboard manual before beginning, it shows how everything connects.
Don't force anything.

Put the CPU and HSF in the board before you put the board in the case.

567740 2007-07-12 01:34:00 What have you got AS5 on there for? sure it's great but the standard stuff that comes with the CPU will be fine, probably only want AS5 if you're going to overclock? Agent_24 (57)
