567554 2007-07-10 02:48:00 I find this highly amusing.
If you need help with your broadband talk to someone in the Phillapines.
Am I glad I'm not with Xtra!:yuck:

567555 2007-07-10 02:50:00 Have a read of this: www.nzherald.co.nz

I think if Telecom does move its broadband support call centre to the Philippines it could be a recipe for disaster

567560 2007-07-10 03:46:00 In view of our towns forthcoming meeting to pick on Telecom about poor or non-existent cellphone nad broadband coverage here I mentioned to a few people that Telecom won't give a stuff.

Because 95% of people here have:
A)Phone with them
B)Internet of one kind or naother with them

So they sit back and rake in the money regardless.

And then these peole ring me.
Like the lady who just agreed to go with broadband through them, she got her modem in the mail and immediately rings me. What do I do?

Um, no. I am not the Xtra helpdesk.
Yes Xtra helpdesk is useless and about to get worse, but hey, why did you choose them????

Now this same lady was advised a year ago to get a real PC with quality components after hers died. She went running down to the local chainstore and bought a brand ****box.

So she doesn't listen anyway.

All Xtra customers get what they deserve.
They should vote with their feet. Plenty of good ISPs out there with excellent helpdesks, and they're nearly all cheaper too.

567561 2007-07-10 04:21:00 Yes people need to think and act strategically.

Go with a non Xtra ISP even if it is a bit dearer.

As regards help line going o'seas, that is happening all over the world. There are very few jobs that cannot be outsourced.

Hairdressing is one.

But if everyone cancelled their Xtra and went with Telstra Clear or another ISP and told them why they were cancelling, then they would soon change their mind.

But people do not buy NZ made when they have/had a chance and soon they may lose their jobs.

Regards

Their mistakes are well noted and the timeframe between each of these mistakes seems to be decreasing at a fast rate of knots Myth (110)
