567368 2007-07-09 07:41:00 I'm getting a quote from these guys (http://www.leafbusters.co.nz) do have my gutters covered. I can't see it being cheap, so wondered if anyone else has had them fitted?

Thanks

567369 2007-07-09 07:57:00 Looks good. Fine mesh.
Hate to think of the price though.

I have given up in the coarse mesh gutterguard, the gutters still fill up with small debris, then you have to fight the gutterguard as well to remove it to clean.

567370 2007-07-09 10:13:00 Hi,

I am sceptical the leafbusters system as well. I would imagine it may become gummed up with debris.

I have used the Marley leafslide (code rwls) and it works wonders around $50 per downpipe

99% of debris is removed and no more climbing up ladders yourself again

567372 2007-07-09 11:32:00 Just wait till the grass seeds fall INTO the gutter. Then try grabbing them out. bob_doe_nz (92)

Yeah it was always gonna be costly, I surmised.

Anyway, I got an estimate... for 60 metres of guttering they gave me two quotes. One for fifteen hundred dollars, the second for their superior product (diamond mesh?) with double the time guarantee, three thou. :(

I might be climbing up the ladder with a trowel for a while to come!

That's the way to do it. My parents moved into a house with some description of system already installed. It was crap. Worse than the americas cup. It got ripped out first autumn. Hire a water blaster for an afternoon once a year you'll get it sorted. Do the garden path while your at it.

567375 2007-07-10 06:22:00 They keep out as much as they keep in, eventually providing a moist swamp for grass & weeds to grow. Then try removing those growning through the guard.

Clean your gutters out annually with a good blast of water from hose & gun... is all thats needed, done on a warm sunny day, takes about an hour all going well.

567376 2007-07-10 06:31:00 Covering the gutters with anything is a waste of time, as has already been said above, they still fill up with small debris and composting leaves, then to clean them you have to remove the mesh and then put it back, just extra work for no benefit.

I HATE CLEANING GUTTERS, stinky green/black hands with small cuts from the tile edges, then washing the outside of the white plastic where the debris has over flowed and stained. The best thing to use is Ajax Spray n Wipe.

567377 2007-07-10 07:59:00 Hmm. I think I'd be buying this gutter guard system if I had the cash handy.

Their guarantee is pretty convincing.

Plus, their pre-sales service is good.

Only problem I had was with their dual solution products... one costing twice as much as the other.

Hmm.

But anyway, nevermind... was hoping to hear from anyone who'd already used them.

Nevermind.

As said... I'll be climbing the ladder for at least another year.

Thanks very much for comments people!
