PC World had a recent AV article earlier this month - link (pcworld.co.nz)

Scratch the second and NOD32 comes in third to Kaspersky and BitDefender. Also, AVG doesn't rate so well overall. I usually recommend AntiVir over AVG or avast! anyway

567827 2007-07-17 01:50:00 A lot more people are using Avast than I expected....:2cents: wratterus (105)
567828 2007-07-17 01:55:00 It has rather surprised me as well. It's good to see that it is beaten AVG. :p

Also surprising is the number of people using NOD32 considering it isn't free, but maybe those people are still using the 12 month free copy that came with PC World last year.

567829 2007-07-17 02:29:00 These polls don't really mean anything as very few people bother to vote.
I hardly think 46 votes out of a total of 12795 members gives any sort of useful information.

567830 2007-07-17 02:36:00 Yes, that is true. If all of the 12795 members voted Norton AV would probably outdo all the other AVs ten-fold. :p FoxyMX (5)

567833 2007-07-18 23:40:00 argh! AVG is ahead of NOD32. this is terrible.:dogeye: wratterus (105)
567834 2007-07-19 00:37:00 Yes, that is true. If all of the 12795 members voted Norton AV would probably outdo all the other AVs ten-fold. :p

Why would Norton catch up if everyone voted.

A low percentage of the respondents use it, so probably a low percentage of all members will use it ! (Basic maths)

Most people don't use it once their free trial runs out because
1 it costs money
2 it takes over your machine
3 help/support is impossible to get
