568279 2007-07-12 01:30:00 We are due to get telstraclears internet phone and tv installed tomorrow,But i would like to hear from anybody as to what people think of the tv service is it as clear as sky is via satellite or is it a bit grainy i have heard that its not that great from some guys at work but id like to hear it from some fairly technical knowledgeable people on here for a more defined honest answer. 568280 2007-07-12 03:54:00 is it as clear as skyI don't know about Telstra Clear, but I don't think you could call the Sky picture clear, even on a small 29-inch CRT you can see compression and it looks worse on a 40-inch plus LCD/plasma (btw I don't have Sky myself, just observations from other people's setups). maccrazy (6741)

well I'm not that knowledgeable, but have had there digital since it arrived. the picture isn't to bad. My biggest gripe is the bloody on screen display/channel guide has a habit of freezing up not allowing you to change channels. Which is a pain when channel surfing:badpc:

568282 2007-07-12 05:26:00 Does the picture appear grainy to you at all and does it flicker or shimmer very often. Sorry for all the questions. Hitech (9024)
568283 2007-07-12 06:34:00 I read on the telstraclear website that you are supposed to get your modem a few days before connection, but we were told by the rep that came round that all this was done on the day can somone put this issue straight please, cause as yet we do not have our cable modem or have they changed the policy again. Hitech (9024)
568284 2007-07-12 06:39:00 I'm no expert, but I reckon the picture with cable is MUCH better than Sky satellite that we had before. No defects at all on our old 29" CRT. But I mostly only watch news and sport.
The EPG function does its scone from time to time and you have to turn off both the decoder and the modem, leave for 30 s, then turn the modem then the decoder box on and wait for it to boot up.

But the best thing is cable internet. It's fast enough that I don't really notice it taking any time at all. Downloading or uploading.

568288 2007-07-12 09:54:00 Thanks for that Plod just shows telstraclears site needs updating as their site says you get your modem delivered so yet again they must have changed there policy and not bothered updating it so people know. Hitech (9024)
