567602 2007-07-10 08:10:00 Hi all

I am looking to get a job in IT here in Welly. Probably something more in the hardware line as I am no programmer.

Can any one recommend a good course/school to take locally that is not a three or four year degree.

Thanks

ThanksMan, three or four years? Mine only take 1/2 year with hardware troubleshooting etc . But if you want to be qualified get CompTIA A+, sounds easy but not easy, study! That's all, not too much PC games anyway .

Whatever you did that took half a year wasn't a degree . Jonboy was referring to a degree when he mentioned a three or four year course .

An A+ course or whatever is in a completely different league than an IT degree .

567608 2007-07-12 03:48:00 So here is the deal.

I am currently studying Industrial Design and have not passed a paper. This means waiting a year to do it again, delaying my graduation by a year.

I need to start earning some good money asap. My partner is an I.T. Project Manager and can get me in, but I need a ticket.

I would prefer to be doing something more in the setup/hardware side of things.

567609 2007-07-12 03:52:00 What is wrong with studying Industrial Design. It might be hard work but it can also lead to a very promising career path. If you get in with the right crowd with hardware design you could go much further than just with PC repair. winmacguy (3367)

It looks easy, but I won't take it easy, the exam questions are not easy to be honest and I've passed both to become a technician.

Absolutely nothing. I love ID, but as I said, I cant wait three years to start earning.
