| 567117 | 2007-07-09 01:23:00 | We have a client who wants an overseas domain (a country specific one) We have tried http://www.godaddy.com, but they don’t do the country we are after. What other overseas domain name registers do PressF1 members use to get .com etc…? Thanks :) |

There is no way around this, if a non australia buys one, and the registrar can taken the domain off the owner if they can't prove that they are an australian company or person . They do spot checks from time to time too. I think nz domains should be like this too, as a lot of nz domains are owned by overseas speculators. |

You don't have to be based in Australia to register a .au domain name, but you are required to have an ABN (Australian business number). |
