| 753574 | 2009-03-05 03:19:00 | Hi, I have been experimenting with this Windows v7- knowing it will cease working Aug 1- and have become fairly-FAIRLY- competent-I wish!!! :xmouth: when using 3D in v7,as an example I get "cannot use this untill a better video card is installed". O K which Video card should I look at? I have XP Pro,1 Gb ram,3.01 CPU,80 gb h/d and have no fault with it's operation----even if it is completely obsolete :lol: If I follow your recommendations and find the cost too much, am I losing anything in this XP Pro version anyway? If it would make a great improvement I will get one--which one? effie c |

| 753575 | 2009-03-05 03:35:00 | It wont make a difference for day-to-day use unless you like your windows to go flying around the desktop rather than directly minimizing (for example). Unless you're doing Gaming, or specifically want the special effects and are prepared to front $100+ for a new graphics card, you wont notice any difference ;) Going back to XP, with or without a graphics card, it'll still run exactly the same :) |

You have to give a price you are willing to spend so we dont waste time on suggesting stuff you dont wont to spend money on.:2cents: 3. You have not said what you use your computer for.No need to get a good graphic card if all you are doing is internet/homework etc.:) 4. | 753577 | 2009-03-05 04:23:00 | Hi, Thank you both, - I see that using XP with the supposed new card won't make any difference- and as W v7 is going out of use August 1 - I would be a right charlie to spend $100 odd--although I will if there had been the chance of improvent- but, there ain't, so I won't Thank you all---I will use, quite happily , what I have got- albeit now very obsolete :rolleyes: If it comes to that this Beta v7 is based on the "ultimate" version so God only knows what Microsoft is going to charge for the commercial versiom effie c |
