570084 2007-07-19 00:41:00 I'm looking for the same type of cheese that pizza hut uses, not salty, not much cheese taste, anyone knows what is the name of that cheese? Is it available in supermarkets? SKT174 (1319)
570085 2007-07-19 00:44:00 I, too would like to know where to aquire that very nice cheese.....:p wratterus (105)
570086 2007-07-19 01:00:00 I think your grandmother used it for washing the clothes, Sunlight brand I believe.

A cheese without a cheese taste - must be American :)

570087 2007-07-19 01:09:00 Pizza Hut?
All pizzas have Mozzarella on them. For that melty stretchy consistency.
Mozzarella doesn't have a lot of flavour, some places mix it with cheddar or parmesan to get flavour.

I use an aged cheddar as well when I make pizza. Pizza hut would use whatever cheap Mozzarella with nothing else I guess.

You can't use just cheddar though, it doesn't melt right.

Go and look, and you'll find out.

Dairies most probably sell it too.

Yep, but they are very expensive. I work at the checkouts at Countdown and sometimes I get customers buying 150g packs of shaved mozzarella cheese for $6.

Don't know where Pizza Hut get their cheese from. Straight from the cows I guess?

570091 2007-07-19 02:07:00 Yup, you can get Mozzarella from any supermarket. While expensive, thats all we use at home simply because it tastes far better that Colby or Edam. Its very creamy and smells nice too:D beeswax34 (63)
570092 2007-07-19 02:25:00 Haven't tried it but this site (www.leeners.com) tells you how to make mozzarella yourself. Looks interesting if you have some time on your hands!! johcar (6283)
570093 2007-07-19 02:26:00 Supermarket mozarella is much better than the synthetic cheese they use on their pizzas lol jermsie (6820)
