570021 2007-07-18 12:32:00 My Asus P5K doesn't have a PS/2 port for a mouse. So I need to use my old USB mouse, which is not functioning properly at times.

I'd like to keep using my PS/2 mouse, so does anybody have any spare lying around?

Thanks

If you don't get any local hits, let me know..I am in the US.

OMG!
I didn't even look to see. Whats with that suddenly? PS2 mice are obsolete?!

I just ordered one fior a build, customer did not order a mouse has he has one - PS2.

Mental!

570025 2007-07-18 20:45:00 Beware-unless the mouse electronics is designed to use either, then the adapter will not work.

Most newer mice will be OK, earlier PS2 often don't work though.

Yeah, same here. I don't think you can get a straight PS/2 to USB adaptor, maybe in some other form, but the mouse actually has to be designed to work with one, and often older ones won't. It would be easier to get one (www.trademe.co.nz) off TM

Everyone seems to get upset about the lack of legacy ports in the new motherboards, My work has about 7000 dell pcs and not one has Ps/2 ports, get used to it.

570029 2007-07-18 22:59:00 The biggest problem isnt so much mice, but keyboards.
All new mice are USB, even the cheapest ones.
I have yet to see a K/B under $35-$40 that comes with USB.

I can buy them for $10. We sell a decent multimedia USB keyboard with a PS/2 adaptor for $17.
