Not really interested in sexual stories or drug highs . . that's been covered already in a poll . Mine first is acceleration . I ran a twin engined rail-type dragster at Lion's Drag Strip in the middle 1960's, and the acceleration I got out of it was the biggest thrill I can think of . There's roller coasters, free-falling, bungee jumping . . . . . . etc . . . you tell me . . . maybe make a list of 5 or 10 things you really enjoyed . MY LIST 1) Dragster acceleration 2) Hammerhead stalls in a Citabria 3) Accidentally surviving a wrong turn on a highway that went right when I went left at over 100mph on a Kawasaki KZ-650 . 4) Being in the delivery room for my last 4 children's births 5) Buncing my inflatable boat over the top of a Right Whale off Newport Beach . It too was an accident . . but I didn't hurt him . . . scared me though! 6) Surviving being run over by multiple cars and trucks on the San Diego freeway one Spring night after being knocked off my motorcycle by a drunk driver . |

I used to do mountain climbing and various other pursuits, but after seeing the poor folk jumping to their deaths from the burning towers I now have an abject fear of anything remotely akin to heights. However, up until then I used to love climbing BIG rocks, windsurfing in the ocean (where there was a risk of being blown out to sea and never returning), and I was an active rugby, squash and karate sports participant.... I loved the contest. Body-surfing in impossibly stormy high waves also used to be a day-to-day buzz when I was younger. |

| 568526 | 2007-07-13 00:44:00 | I get my thrills dirt biking. My last biggest thrill was a couple of months ago coming down a steep and gnarly hill section that I had been warned about but came across unexpectedly. I had no option but to go for it rather than have someone else take my bike down for me as I was originally planning to do. Normally, steep downhill sections are OK as long as they are fairly straight with no bumps or nasty tight bends at the bottom. This one started off straight but it was littered with tussocks, boulders, matagouri bushes and the sheep track got very narrow and wound around aforementioned obstacles about halfway down. I did mention it was steep, too, didn't I? :p How I got down this gnarly section without flying over the top of the handlebars I don't know but I desperately had to fight the urge not to touch the front brake even though it felt like I was going way too fast. It is best to take as straight a path as possible when going downhill and that course of action meant that I had to climb over several tussocks and the odd matagouri bush, little ones fortunately, to avoid the larger boulders that kept springing up in front of me. It seemed a jolly long way down and the nerves weren't helped by the sight of one or two others that had come to grief. It's a good job no one could hear me muttering to myself on the way down as my language tends to be rather colourful under great stress or fright. :p By the time I reached the bottom my legs were like jelly and I was shaking like a leaf but wow! what a thrill it was! In fact it was so good I even did another lap just to get that buzz all over again. :D |

| 568529 | 2007-07-13 02:04:00 | 4) Being in the delivery room for my last 4 children's births Having been personally involved in this sort of thing I can tell you that is not a thrill at all. Even I would have preferred being in the waiting room and seeing things after it was all over. Or even better, at home enjoying myself and being notified later on. |

| 568530 | 2007-07-13 02:19:00 | Thrills... Walking into a store and complaining about the prices, the availability of stock, shoplifting an item into my sleeve and just being a general arse. Well, I did that when I went to visit one of our sister stores. And yes I returned it after the manager finally realized who I was. |

Even I would have preferred being in the waiting room and seeing things after it was all over . Or even better, at home enjoying myself and being notified later on . I'll tell you this . . . . . . My last daughter was a problem delivery . Wife developed preeclampsia and the doctor told me that when he looked at me, I had to decide which I wanted: My wife or the baby . He looked at me to ask, and I didn't indicate either . . . he got angry and cussed at me and then got down to business and saved them both . That was a real powerful moment in my life . That was July 1, 1987 . I would not trade that moment for anything else in my life . . . . being there and seeing that . My wife died on Feb 28, 1992 when that daughter was 4 1/2 years old, one year to the day before my oldest son died . February 28th is not a good day for me . |

| 568532 | 2007-07-13 05:51:00 | I was a life guard at Ocean Beach near Whangarei about 12 years ago. I rescued a pregnant woman who was about to get smashed into some rocks. That sure got the adrenaline flowing :D |
