568544 2007-07-15 11:42:00 OK, let me be geeky here :p

The first time I powered up my computer that I had assembled myself from parts I had specifically chosen; and it booted without errors. :D

Next up was installing Linux Gentoo from stage 1 - starting with only a 80 MB bootstrap and then picking all components I wanted, downloading source code and compiling (with my own FLAGS) until several days later I had the fully functional desktop loading for the first time.

568545 2007-07-15 12:00:00 Actually, while in East Timor I had a shot gun pulled on me when we went to arrest a guy, now that was pretty freaky, instant rush!

Seeing how we almost built a village from burnt remains back to livable(sp?) conditions was rewarding and a thrill too.

Sort of.

A sh1tbag walked into our social gathering, stole a bottle of beer, cracked it onto some poor sods head and ran out.

The social gathering followed (chased) him out onto the street, 2 cars pulled up, he dived into the rear of the first, The second car proceeded to fire shots into the crowd, For some reason I remember the sound of them hitting the fence more then the sound of them firing. Perhaps because I was standing near the fence wondering what the hell the noise was.

One of the lads (a little agitated) ran at the car doing the shooting, Lmfao, Madness, Received more then a few shotgun pellets in his legs for his troubles.

And of course, There was the time a guy pulled 2 knives on me, slit my throat, But thats another story....Pity I never got to build a village from burnt sticks:D

Man, you and trouble seem to have a magnetic attraction to each other :groan: ... you sure you're not related to the g/f's older kids??

568548 2007-07-16 00:40:00 Alkigator Wrestling, oops, that was a typo but it works quite well so I'll leave it.
I read this the other day www.theonion.com and it reminded me of a similar experience I had with a caged bear in Delhi, India back in '72 (for that you can read, stoned). It looked so sad that I went over and gave it a pat on the head. My mate said he'd never seen anyone move so fast in his life as the bear took a swipe at me. Now that was a thrill.

Ya, Was 15 at the time, also had one of the knives rammed into my chest, then when I realised I was in the process of being murdered I tried to make my exit, at which time I had both knives buried in my back.

an interesting night to say the least
