No. user manual says the jumper should be removed.

754671 2009-03-08 21:59:00 Just tried to boot it up and it it fails as expected. Removed the CMOS battery, shorted the Clear CMos pins, and it boots up OK.

Plugged in a USB flash drive but it says F:\ is not accessible - The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

754672 2009-03-08 22:12:00 Everytime you remove the battery, are you reconfiguring the BIOS??

Because you should be. Thats probably why its not working properly

I did reconfigure the settings everytime the CMOS is reset.

Anyway, after turning it OFF and re start it, it won't boot, again. Removing the battery and resetting the CMOS does not ALWAYS work. It's very temperamental:badpc:

754674 2009-03-08 23:43:00 Replace the battery, (if its that old), it could be dead Speedy Gonzales (78)
754675 2009-03-09 00:19:00 I'm tending to think the mobo is dead/dying too. But just something to try out.. the next time you get it to boot ok, see if you can revert to your old BIOS version

You may have to download and reflash

754676 2009-03-09 00:22:00 Nah it could be a dead battery

If the update was corrupted or something, it would be completely dead / wouldnt do anything at all
