568974 2007-07-14 11:09:00 *** something has to be done about PedalSlammer! I'm all for free speech but this is verging on free spam!

Maybe we need a separate third forum where he can post his dribble without affecting genuine people looking for advice? How are people with limited knowledge expect to filter through his crap? PF1 is about helping people but its an uphill battle when hes involved!

PF1 is about helping people but its an uphill battle when hes involved!Dude do your home work, CompTIA A+ is changed. Oh yeah, I wanna see Pete O'Neil in the test then.

First you must pass the Essentials, and then select the other one to do like: Support(Help Desk), Depot(Workshop), IT Technician(Normal technician).

For more info visit www.comptia.org

WARNING PETE O'NEIL IS SPAMMING THIS TOPIC TAKE COVER!

Yo Pete!!! Did you do you homework or what? And stop spamming.

Other who are interested in A+, may I suggest this link:
certification.comptia.org
It clearly shows that you need to do Essentials first then do the other units such as IT Technician to get CompTIA A+ qualified.

568978 2007-07-14 15:19:00 A+ exams have gotten easier.

I am yet to see a student do a resit on the new exams, every one I have seen sit the new exams have scored very well.

The old exams seemed to more of a challenge to most students.

I know they were somewhat difficult when I sat them, it was pass/fail purely on my own merits of what I had learnt .

And I know I learnt something lol, I wouldn't say Im a complete retard :p

Thanks for the comments.
Still deciding the best way to go.
Those of you who have done courses, is there a particular text book that is used or recommended. From my research there appears to be quite a selection claiming to be specific to that certification.

568983 2007-07-18 03:37:00 OK sure there is an abundance of info available, but I would prefer to be learning the appropriate stuff. I had a look at some of the available tests today so have an idea of the areas I need to research.
I wasn't planning on starting another career this late in life as I already have too trades but can't work in either of them for health reasons.
I would prefer to go through a course as should direct me down the appropriate path.

rocky138. The appropriate path for you may be different to what others may choose. I have no knowlege of what you know now.

Why do you need Comp A+ and do you think this certification will result in paid employment?

If you want Comp A+ then go do it.

Is your question really about where you go for the least amount of money?

Your age is important along with a CV that sells yourself.
This may get you an interview or not as the case may be.

In the event you actually had Comp A+ in your hand what would you do with it?
