568727 2007-07-14 09:39:00 I must say that I like Gregs idea the most :D

Unfortunately I had a better idea, dunno why I didnt think of it before:
"Why not go onto the Airline website and look for some FAQ's?"
'Surely she's not the first person to want a refund / cancellation' I thought...

So I went and found this:
www.flypacificblue.com

But yeah, thanks to all for the advice :D

And you find this if you read a bit more.
You don't get the money back, it goes into your account as credit.

The only refundable fare is the Corporate Plus fare, all other fare types are non-refundable.

If you make a cancellation, we put the balance of the fare price (after deducting the cancellation fee if applicable) into credit which you can use for your next booking. The credit is valid for one year from the date of the original booking

A credit is $500+ better than nothing anyway.

Then you have options. You could buy someone else a flight if you weren't going to use it yourself.

Airlines are scalpers, which is illegal (I think)

Try it, go buy a ticket day before flight and you will pay 3 x more than the guy sitting next to you going to the same damn place.

....isn't the credit in the name of the original contractee? If so, I don't see a way around it then.

...although a potential sex-change or plastic surgery comes to mind.

Yeah, but that surely wouldn't mean you can only use it for yourself. I would expect it to mean you can use it for any flight, as long as its with that airline.

568735 2007-07-15 03:03:00 She's actually going somewhere else later on in about 9 months so Im sure even a 'store credit' would be better than nothing ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
