2009-03-06 23:45:00 | Hey everyone, I'm new here, so I'm not exactly sure what information to post but here it goes: Alright so a few months ago, my computer began to crash every once in a while (about once a day or so...) I ignored this for a while, until it crashed 4 times in a row one day. When log back into my account, an error message appears: "The system has recovered from a serious error. A log of this error has been created. For more information about this error, click here (shown below) Error signature: BCCode: 1000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: 46245987 BCP3: B7382B9C BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 256_1 To view technical information about this report, click here (show below) The following files (they're the same every time) will be included in this error report: C:\DOCUME~1\.....\Temp\WER7afa.dir00\Mini030609-01.dmp C:\DOCUME~1\.....\Temp\WER7afa.dir00\sysdata.xml" I have a screenshot if anyone needs it. My system specs are as follows: System: Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3 Manufactured and supported by: Cicero Intel (R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.50GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM If anyone could please help my computer stop crashing, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :) -Ibrahim59

2009-03-06 23:59:00 | Welcome to the forum Ibrahim WHEN does it crash?? When youre playing games?? Anytime? I dont know if this version of XP has event viewer, but try going to start/run, type eventvwr, then look under system and application (if theyre there) Look for any ! or X entries (about the time it crashes). Double click on the entry and click on the icon under the down arrow. Then paste it here. If this version is similar to Home and Pro, press the windows key + pause, then go to the advanced tab / startup and recovery / settings. Untick automatically restart. Then next time it crashes (is it showing a bluescreen, when it crashes)? It may show whats making it crash Has it been scanned for viruses / malware recently? Post a hijackthis log log (if you can its below). Install it / run it, click on scan the system and save a log. Copy and paste the log here

2009-03-07 00:16:00 | Hey Speedy Gonzales, thanks for the quick reply! It crashes pretty much anytime, but usually when I'm using a lot of the memory on the computer (like when I have Mozilla Firefox, iTunes, Windows Live Messenger and MS Word 07 open) Yeah, I do have the event viewer --(posting all of today's events) under: Application: [Type] [Date] [Time] [Source] [Category] [Event] Warning 3/6/09 11:54:08AM EvntAgnt None 1015 Warning 3/6/09 11:54:08AM EvntAgnt None 1003 Error 3/6/09 8:12:45AM Application Error None 1000 Warning 3/6/09 7:57:11AM EvntAgnt None 1015 Warning 3/6/09 7:57:11AM EvntAgnt None 1003 System: Warning 3/6/09 4:08:43PM Tcpip None 4226 Error 3/6/09 4:05:14PM System Error (102) 1003 Error 3/6/09 11:54:04AM Service Control Manager None 7000 Error 3/6/09 11:54:04AM Service Control Manager None 7000 Warning 3/6/09 8:37:47AM Tcpip None 4226 Warning 3/6/09 8:23:51AM Tcpip None 4226 --- I'm not sure where the windows key is? :X --- Yes, it has been scanned less than a month ago, (way after this problem has started) and showed nothing (using Avast!, Spybot, and Ad-Aware) Thanks again, -Ibrahim59

2009-03-07 00:21:00 | Yes, it has been scanned less than a month ago, (way after this problem has started) and showed nothing (using Avast!, Spybot, and Ad-Aware) Manufactured and supported by: Cicero -Ibrahim59 So....contact Cicero. You should post what its STOP error is. And less than a month ago? Antispyware should be run (after updating each time) a minimum of every week, more often is better.

2009-03-07 00:29:00 | Hello pctek, I'm not sure what a STOP error is? And as for the antispyware, I shall scan my computer right away. Thanks, -Ibrahim59

2009-03-07 00:37:00 | The first post had the astop error number BCCode: 1000008e If it happens to have the code "KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" you could have one of the following: * Hard disk damage or failure * Configuration problems with the BIOS, memory, hard disk, or other devices * Incompatible device driver * Incompatible software Download memtest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/) - On the free downland - get the bootable ISO in the zipped file, extract the ISo file, then using your image burning software, create a bootable CD, boot from that - let it run through at least twice ( will take a while) anything that shows in RED is failed memory and has to be replaced. Edited: if you dont have any ISO burning software get BurnCDcc (www.terabyteunlimited.com) doesn't need installing. Extract it then Simply double click, up top locate the ISO file you want, click Start - the cd Drive will open, drop in a blank CD close the drive and it will do the rest.
