753680 2009-03-05 08:21:00 Hi folks, I just got a Dell p1130 monitor and have installed the drivers. Now I notice in the Nvidia control panel I can set the refresh rate to 150 hertz, at the mo its at 85hertz. When would I set it to 150? when I am gaming? And also when set to 150 will it in any way shorten the life of the monitor? Thanks :) G-Boy (6793)
753681 2009-03-05 08:27:00 Your monitor only supports up to 85hertz. 150hertz is just there, but your monitor doesn't support it.

And 150hertz wouldn't affect the life of the monitor.

Generally, you set the refresh rate to the highest the monitor supports

If its on 85, leave it at 85

753684 2009-03-05 08:44:00 the p1130 does do really high refresh rates, I use one as I'm very sensitive to lower rates (headaches etc).

higher the better as it will give very solid looking colours,

I do bind the rates using a refresh rate lock @

120hz from 1024x720 to 1280x960
150hz 800x600
and unlocked at anything higher

these arnt the highest rates available at thous resolutions, but are the ones I find most comfortable.
